After a frustrating few hours I have finally got Ubuntu (v8.04) back onto my computer as a dualboot with Microsoft Windows XP.
Sometimes I wonder what all the fuss is about with Linux but this time I think I have got the setup correct, still no joy getting EMU0404 soundcard working, or correct drivers for my video card but Linux is becoming hard to over look at the moment with Microsoft Vista's poor compatibility with my system.
Also of note today is that I managed to pick up some very reasonable audio cables which should allow me some more freedom when rearranging my room. I must also collect my second turntable from my parent's house and find a work surface suitable for mixing!
